Hilton selects OTRUM to Supply Interactive TV Systems

Hilton International Continental Europe has announced that OTRUM is to become a key vendor for the supply of interactive TV systems. In March 2004 OTRUM signed an agreement for the delivery of interactive solutions to 22,000 rooms to the Scandic brand in the Nordic region (100% owned by Hilton), following this Hilton International Continental Europe held a tender process where eight vendors were invited to give an offer for a highly specified system to Hilton branded hotels in Continental Europe and the UK.

OTRUM Dynamic, the solution chosen by Hilton International Continental Europe, builds on the same robust OTRUM technology as the Scandic brand is currently implementing, but with additional services such as Digital Video On Demand, Express Check Out and with the option of installing LCD/flat TVs.

OTRUM expects the volume from this contract to be a minimum of 6.000 rooms to be installed over the next 24 months with an estimated minimum contract value of €9 mill (NOK 76 mill). Final agreement on the delivery of the interactive TV agreement will be signed shortly, with the first deliveries taking place in the near future.

Mr. Fredd Causevic, President & CEO of OTRUM, comments, “This agreement, together with the previous agreement for the provision of TV channels to Hilton, is evidence that hotel chains want to have key strategic partners, and that OTRUM is the primary contender. The Hilton and Scandic brands have a great deal of trust in OTRUM, with Scandic recently signing a frame agreement for interactive systems, and Hilton International Continental Europe accepting an offer for our high specified TV solution for an expected minimum volume of 6.000 rooms over the next 24 months.”
