InterContinental Hotels Group has appointed ZenithOptimedia as its new media services agency. From 1st September 2004, ZenithOptimedia will commence working with the Group, overseeing and managing media planning and buying initiatives to facilitate the efficient and consistent delivery of the Group’s brand message across Asia Pacific, with Zenith Singapore as its leading Hub Agency. InterContinental Hotels Group’s Director of Brand Management, Mr Allan Yip said, “InterContinental Hotels Group has achieved extraordinary growth in Asia Pacific in the past 18 months. Concurrent with this exponential growth is an evolution of our brands, which have grown to be top choices for travellers, and it becomes even more critical to drive brand resonance in our target markets. To address these growing requirements, we have appointed ZenithOptimedia as our new media partner. We value ZenithOptimedia’s reach in the region, its reputation and standing in the industry and the fact that it shares our commitment to focus on driving value for our hotels. We believe that this is the beginning of a strong and mutually rewarding partnership.’’

Headquartered in London, ZenithOptimedia is among the top five global media agencies. The award-winning agency has 162 offices worldwide, including 43 offices in 14 Asia Pacific countries.

Mr Yip added, “The agency’s robust presence in Asia Pacific was a major factor. Our sustained investment and growth throughout Asia Pacific makes it imperative for us to partner an agency that is aligned with our business objectives of enhancing brand visibility and driving revenue to our hotels. We believe that ZenithOptimedia can add value in supporting our hotels with ZenithOptimedia’s in-depth market reach and resources, in addition to proven capabilities and flexibility.”

InterContinental Hotels Group’s appointment of ZenithOptimedia also marks the conclusion of the Group’s partnership with Mediaedge:cia, which has served as its media services agency for two and a half years.
