United Airlines Reduces Miles Needed

To continue offering its
frequent flyers more value for their loyalty, United Airlines for the third time this year is reducing the amount of
Mileage Plus miles needed to redeem award travel. United Economy Saver
award travel booked on united.com will be available for 15,000 redeemable
miles instead of 25,000 miles, and United First(R) or United Business(R)
Saver award travel will be available for 30,000 redeemable miles instead
of 40,000 miles*. This award travel is for most nonstop, roundtrip flights
that are 750 air miles or less each way on United, United Express or Ted.
Qualifying sample flights from United’s hub cities include:—Chicago to
Baltimore; Montreal; Newark, N.J.; New York City (LaGuardia);
Philadelphia; Pittsburgh; Toronto; or Washington, D.C.—Denver to
Albuquerque N.M.; Dallas; Kansas City, Mo.; Las Vegas; Phoenix; or Tucson.
—Los Angeles to Las Vegas; Palm Springs, Calif.; Phoenix; Reno; or San
Francisco.—San Francisco to Boise, Idaho; Portland, Ore.; Salt Lake
City; San Diego; or Seattle.—Washington, D.C. (Dulles) to Chicago;

“When United reduced the miles our TedClub(SM) members needed for their
Mileage Plus award travel, we received an overwhelming response from our
customers,” said Arnold Lewis, United’s vice president - Marketing
Programs and president - UAL Loyalty Services. “We are now extending this
offer to both our Mileage Plus and TedClub members, enabling them to use
25 percent to 40 percent fewer miles for travel to destinations close to
their home.”

Mileage Plus reduced award travel is available for U.S. and Canadian
short-distance flights operated by United, United Express and Ted, and
booked online beginning today for travel between Sept. 1, 2004 and Dec.
