iPass Provides Hyatt International With Global Connectivity

Under a signed agreement, Hyatt
International Corp.

is providing its worldwide corporate employees with
the iPass
Corporate Access secure connectivity service.Using the simple and intuitive iPassConnect(TM) client installed on their
laptops, Hyatt International employees can access the Internet or their
corporate network simply and securely while on the road. iPassConnect
requires just a single username and password to open the door to six
different connection options in more than 150 countries, as well as to a
user’s VPN and endpoint security systems. Employees will have access to
both Wi-Fi and dial-up connections for the utmost freedom and flexibility.

“We pride ourselves on staying ahead of the technology curve—both for
our hotels and for our workforce,” said Mark Retnam, director of global
communications technology for Hyatt International. “Wi-Fi is a natural
evolution for Hyatt International, and it made sense to partner with an
innovative company like iPass that boasts the largest Wi-Fi footprint, and
has the quality and service to reinforce it.”

Hyatt International selected iPass as its enterprise connectivity service
because iPass is known as a leader in its field, offering one of the
largest footprints of wired broadband service, as well as dial-up
Internet, ISDN, GSM and PHS (a 2.5 G service in Asia). It also stakes its
claim as the world’s largest Wi-Fi network, with over 11,000 active
hotspots.

“Our hotels are dispersed over 38 countries worldwide, so we require a
first-class global solution that lets our employees stay productive
whether they’re in Chicago, Hong Kong or Santiago,” Mr. Retnam continued.
“We selected iPass for our global connectivity, because it provides a
consistently simple experience for our users, and consolidated invoicing
for us. We’re also impressed by the security and usage reporting features
that accompany the Corporate Access service.”

All of the providers on the extensive iPass virtual network have
successfully completed a rigorous testing program to ensure service
availability, as well as interoperability with policy and security tools,
such as virtual private networks, personal firewalls and virus protection.

“Hyatt International is archetypal of today’s mobile workforce, which
needs to remotely access the corporate network without sacrificing
security or usability,” said John Thuma, vice president of worldwide sales
at iPass. “iPass is the right fit for Hyatt International because our
service was tailor-made for enterprises, with strong security and policy
tools that don’t disrupt the end-user.”
