Worldspan has reported significant growth in the number of Worldspan travel agents in the UK adopting its Internet Protocol (IP) connectivity programme and therefore maximising the benefits of its Worldspan Go! travel management platform. The company has also announced a new solution enabling agents to access tour operators’ Viewdata information.Agents are adopting IP connectivity for its increased functionality, improved productivity and lower communication costs. The initiative particularly benefits agents choosing the advanced Worldspan Go! browser-based travel management platform, as well as those who have their own terminal applications. The powerful, flexible integrated solutions available from Worldspan Go! deliver complete travel management capabilities, securely and cost-effectively.

The combination of Worldspan Go! and IP connectivity means that agents only need a customised Web browser and standard office computer technology to connect with Worldspan. Worldspan’s Data Centre processes millions of air and other travel transactions, and can be accessed through secure dial-up connection over ISDN, broadband or, as required, dedicated leased line.

Go!, which is available for single or multiple workstations, is equally effective for agents who work from home or who connect remotely, such as with laptops. Importantly, users’ preferences remain portable and intact regardless of where and how Go! is accessed. Go! can also be integrated with an agency’s Intranet or Extranet, as well as with back office systems.
