New Classes Offered on KLM European Flights

Effective November 1, 2004, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines is to launch KLM Europe Select and Europe Economy on all flights longer than 65 minutes. Passengers on flights operated by KLM cityhopper using Fokker 70 and Fokker 100 equipment will now also be offered a choice of two classes. Coupled with the customary inflight and ground services, the associated fares and transport conditions will apply to these flights. The single-class product will be maintained on all European flights of less than 65 minutes. Elfrieke van Galen, Managing Director KLM cityhopper: “By introducing the KLM Europe Select and KLM Economy classes at KLM cityhopper as well, we have made our European flights simpler and more transparent for our passengers. Because the service level no longer depends on the type of aircraft but on the flight duration, passengers will no longer be offered different products on the outbound and homebound legs of the journey. This provides KLM Europe Select passengers the added advantages of quicker check-in counters, lounge access and priority boarding when traveling KLM cityhopper.”

Flights of less than 65 minutes include services from Amsterdam to Eindhoven, Brussels and Norwich. KLM cityhopper operates a fleet of 20 Fokker 70s, 15 Fokker 100s and 16 Fokker 50s. The Fokker 50s will continue to operate in single-class configuration.
