American Airlines Treats Passengers to Ray Charles

This month,
AAttractions, part of American Airlines inflight ensemble, is featuring
an exclusive from Concord Records that highlights the extraordinary talent
of the late, great Ray Charles. Entitled “Genius Loves Company,” the new
recording features Charles singing duets with such artists as B.B. King,
Norah Jones, Willie Nelson and Van Morrison, to name a few.
American’s passengers will be the first to hear the entire recording
before its Aug. 31 release date.

After recording, Ray Charles said of the project, “I’ve recorded with so
many amazing artists in my career, but never on a duet album of my own. I
thought it was time to have some of the friends that I love and the
artists that I admire come into my studio and sing with me live, the way
we did it in the old days. All the guests brought their own magic to each
song. That’s what we wanted and that’s exactly what we got.”

The program also features other new releases on the Concord label,
including vintage 1969 recordings produced by Quincy Jones, as well as new
songs by Karrin Allyson, Gary Burton, Regina Belle and others.

AAttractions continues to turn up the heat in August in other program
offerings, too. It’s all in the family on Connected, featuring the Simpson
and Duff sisters, and the program also features the amazing new singer and
songwriter Jamie Cullum on The Buzz.

AAttractions brings you music that is new, classic and memorable. For more
