InterContinental CFO Voted Best in Industry

Richard Solomons, chief financial officer for
InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG), the world’s largest and most global
hotel company, has been voted best chief financial officer (CFO) in the
European leisure and hotels sector, following a survey by US based
Institutional Investor Magazine.The survey, which named the top 31 European CFO’s by industry sector, polled
more than 200 portfolio managers, analysts at major institutional investors
and sell side analysts. The CFO’s were rated according to their ability to
perform in a number of areas including loyalty to shareholders, honesty in
reporting, time spent with investors and clarity of vision for the future.

Richard North, chief executive, InterContinental Hotels Group said “I am
delighted that, after just one year as CFO of a newly floated FTSE 100
company, Richard’s skill and expertise has been recognised in this way. This
accolade demonstrates the strength of our management team as we transform
this business for the future and focus on continuous improvement.”

Richard Solomons, 42, joined IHG (formerly Bass plc) in 1992, where he held
a number of senior finance and operational roles, before being appointed
finance director of the hotels division in October 2002 in anticipation of
the Company’s listing in April 2003.
