Continental Airlines Announces Reduced Fares

Continental Airlines today
announced reduced one-way fares linking its hubs in New York, Houston and
Cleveland with cities across the country, offering significant savings for
Coach and First Class travel for those unable to plan their travel weeks
in advance. These low fares, especially valuable to business travelers and those
traveling on short itineraries, can be purchased as few as seven days
before departure. Examples include:

From New York/Newark Liberty International Airport:—$399 each way in
Coach and $499 each way in First Class to West Coast cities including Los
Angeles, San Francisco and San Diego. From Houston/George Bush
Intercontinental Airport:—$299 each way in Coach and $499 each way in
First Class to West Coast cities including Los Angeles, Orange County, San
Francisco, Oakland, San Jose and Seattle;—$259 each way in Coach and
$359 each way in First Class to Florida cities including Orlando, Tampa
and Fort Myers;—$299 each way in Coach and $449 each in First Class to
Midwest cities including Cleveland, Columbus, Dayton and Indianapolis.
From Cleveland/Hopkins International Airport:—$299 each way in Coach
and $449 each way in First Class to West Coast cities including Los
Angeles, San Francisco and Seattle;—$279 each way in Coach and $379
each way in First Class to Florida cities including Jacksonville and
Miami; and $259 each way in Coach and $359 each way in First Class to
cities including Tampa and Orlando.

“For customers who need to take quick trips without an extended stay, the
bucks stop here,” said Jim Compton, Continental’s senior vice president of
marketing. “These fares offer a new, valuable choice to travelers who have
become accustomed to paying more in the past. Continental’s low prices are
not just for people who know their schedules weeks or months in advance.”

These fares are offered in addition to competitive, already-low advance
purchase fares in these markets. For example, Continental continues to
offer advance purchase fares between New York and some Florida cities for
less than $100 each way in Coach, and walkup fares requiring no advance
purchase linking Cleveland and Houston with some West Coast cities for
less than $500 each way. Additionally, customers with more flexible
itineraries who can meet minimum stay requirements may still find lower
fares for Coach travel when booking seven days in advance.

Separately, Continental announced it is offering a bonus of 3,000 OnePass
frequent flyer miles for first-time continental.com customers, and a
1,500-mile bonus for existing continental.com customers through July 14.
Continental also offers online customers a lowest-fare guarantee, fee-free
online booking and continental.com check-in, available one to 30 hours
before departure.
