Swiss and BA Agree Release
Swiss International Air Lines has asked British Airways to release the Swiss carrier from some of the obligations of the commercial pact agreed last year.
The two airlines have reached an amicable agreement following recent negotiations.
The slot exchange for eight Heathrow daily slots remains in place.
Codesharing between London Heathrow and Geneva will continue for a further three years subject to agreement of commercial terms.
The remainder of the original agreement will not be implemented.

á Swiss Travel Club will not migrate to British Airways’ Executive Club.
á Swiss will not join the oneworld alliance.
á Other codeshare agreements will end by October 2004.
British Airways chief executive Rod Eddington said: ” We are disappointed that Swiss has decided to step back from our agreement but we accept that it is up to Swiss to decide what is in its best interests. We are pleased that we have reached an amicable conclusion. British Airways remains fully committed to the Swiss market.”
