Etihad Airways, the National Airline of the United Arab Emirates, has announced it will begin an extra flight to Damascus, Syria. The four-times per week direct service to Damascus, Syria and Amman, Jordan is effective June 11, 2004. The new direct flight will operate on Fridays, providing needed capacity on this important and popular route. Flights will now leave Abu Dhabi for Damascus at noon on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
“We have to increase the number of seats in order to meet the tremendous pressure for seats to Damascus and on all of our Middle East routes,” said Etihad’s General Manager for the Southern Gulf, Raymond Korban. “Etihad Airways is committed to this region and we are pleased that our guests recognize the value that our airline brings to the market.” Earlier this month Etihad increased its frequency of Beirut service to five times per week.
