Low Fares Bonanza as bmibaby goes national

bmibaby today launched its first flights from London Gatwick, the latest step in a national expansion programme which now sees it serving every part of the UK.The new daily flights from Gatwick, to Cork and to Prague, are included in bmibaby’s largest-ever schedule, with 52 routes from eight airports in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.


Offer fares on both new routes start from just £14.99 one-way, including taxes and charges.


The summer season sees the airline launching new services from Nottingham East Midlands to Bordeaux and Knock (Connaught) and the reintroduction of services to Ibiza. bmibaby is also rapidly expanding from Manchester Airport, celebrating one year of operations this weekend with the launch of new routes to Bordeaux, Paris (Charles de Gaulle), Ibiza, Jersey and Knock (Connaught). This weekend additional summer routes also commence from the airline’s Teesside base to Alicante, Jersey, Palma and Nice.

bmibaby now serves Prague from all five of its main UK bases (Nottingham East Midlands, Manchester, Cardiff, Teesside and Gatwick).Ê Cork is served from Nottingham East Midlands, Manchester, Cardiff and Gatwick.


Both of the launch flights take off with full aircraft today, and bmibaby reported strong booking levels for May and June.


Tony Davis added: “We have already sold more than half of our capacity for May and June, proving the demand for the bmibaby experience here in the south. As the only low cost airline in Britain to offer free online seat selection as just one of our added benefits, we are sure that the bmibaby operation at Gatwick will prove as successful as our other bases across the UK.”
