Six Senses Resorts & Spas will re-establish the benchmark for Maldivian resorts when it unveils its new Presidential Suite at Soneva Gili later this year. The stunning Presidential Suite will compliment the unique setting of the Maldives’ first all-over-water resort, which opened in 2002 with 44 villas and residences

The Soneva Gili Presidential Suite is like no other. It is made up of five separate buildings which house two master bedrooms, four guest rooms; and a private spa with steam room, sauna and massage pavilion plus an air conditioned gym. There are two m.Fridays on call at all times - with private quarters - and two boats for the resident’s personal use. For the children there is a waterslide into the lagoon.

The accommodation measures one thousand square metres overall, making it probably one of the largest Presidential Suites anywhere. The complex is to also include a kitchen and wine cellar, concealed entertainment centre and large living area. And all this is created in the ecologically friendly rustic chic style of Soneva.

Picture this: Stepping from your personal motorboat up to the arrival area and into a large foyer with daybeds and seating arrangements. To the side is a vast bedroom with breathtaking sea views that can be enjoyed from the centrally positioned king-size bed. To the left is a bathroom with double vanities and a glass-enclosed circular shower accessed by a walkway through your private water garden. The bathtub is situated on its own island deck in the water garden.

From the foyer, you step out onto a huge water-level sun deck featuring a sunken Jacuzzi. Imagine…luxuriating in a Jacuzzi surrounded by a coral atoll in the Indian Ocean. Upstairs is an enormous roof deck with seating and lounges; an exhilarating spot from which to survey the world.
