Hotel Nikko Ibaraki Osaka to Open in June

Hotel Nikko Ibaraki Osaka, an upscale city hotel, will be the newest
addition to Nikko Hotels International when it opens in June 2004, JAL
Hotels Co., Ltd. announced today. JAL Hotels and the hotel’s owner, Asset
Managers Co., Ltd., signed an initial hotel management agreement in
February, and plan renovations of the lobby, guest rooms and dining
facilities before opening, targeted for June 18th. The hotel will be the
55th property managed by JAL Hotels.
“We are really pleased to add this upscale property to our portfolio of
fine hotels, expanding choices available to our guests,” said Shosuke
Machida, president, JAL Hotels Co., Ltd. “Hotel Nikko Ibaraki Osaka will
be our fourth hotel in Japan’s Kansai area, after Hotel Nikko Osaka, Hotel
Nikko Bayside Osaka, and Hotel Nikko Kansai Airport.”

Since opening in 1992, the hotel, currently named Ibaraki Kyoto Hotel, has
attracted both business travelers and local residents. It is ideally
located between Osaka and Kyoto, with 191,599 square feet of floor space
on eight floors, including 103 guest rooms; seven dining facilities; six
banquet facilities ranging from 420 square feet up to 6,082 square feet;
and a fitness club with pool, gym and sauna.

The hotel is situated five minutes by foot from the JR Ibaraki train
station. Nearby landmarks include Osaka Expo Park and International
Culture Park City, Saito, expected to attract 50,000 visitors annually.
