Radisson Plaza Resort Tahiti Appoints Harwood

The Radisson Plaza Resort Tahiti, set to open in June 2004, announces the appointment of Leanne Harwood as director of sales and marketing.
Reporting directly to general manager Philippe Guitton, Harwood is responsible for all sales and marketing initiatives for the new resort, the first upscale resort to open in Tahiti since 1997.

        Prior to joining the Radisson Plaza Resort Tahiti, Harwood served as director of sales and marketing for the five-star Saigon Prince, A Duxton Hotel in Vietnam, where she oversaw a sales and marketing team of 12 and was an integral part in the hotel’s 18 percent occupancy increase in one year.  Harwood?s 18 years of experience in the hospitality industry also include a position as director of sales and marketing at the Radisson Resort in Queensland, Australia, and various sales-related positions at Sheraton hotels in both Australia and New Zealand.

 

General manager Philippe Guitton said, “Leanne’s extensive experience in sales and marketing in the Asia Pacific region makes her the perfect candidate to launch the new Radisson Plaza Resort Tahiti.  We are pleased to have her on our team.”

The Radisson Plaza Resort Tahiti, the first upscale hotel to open in Tahiti since 1997, is the only hotel adjacent to Lafayette Beach, a black sand beach spanning 2,600 feet.  The 165-room resort features 86 ocean-view rooms, 53 suites and 26 duplex suites.  All rooms overlook the water with scenic views and large balconies.  The resort will feature an all-day dining restaurant, a pool bar, a terrace bar, large conference and function facilities, a state-of-the-art spa and health club and will also offer an array of water sports.
