Clive Jacobs Steps Down from lastminute.com

Lastminute.com
have announced that Clive Jacobs is stepping down after only a year as the company’s vice chairman to “look at other business opportunities”.

The Holiday Autos founder joined the group in March 2003 when Holiday Autos was acquired by lastminute.com for £39.7m.
Clive received £20m in cash and shares for his 48 per cent of the car hire company.

He will leave lastminute.com at the end of June following the successful integration of Holiday Autos into lastminute.com.
holiday autos will continue to be overseen by Ian McCaig, lastminute.com’s Chief Operating Officer who was appointed to the Board in November 2003.
Clive Jacobs said: “It has been fantastic to be part of lastminute.com during the past year and see the company I founded integrate so successfully to become a key part of the Group but I now want to look at other business opportunities. This company provides great value for customers and shareholders and I genuinely believe it will go on to become one of tomorrow’s blue chips.”

lastminute.com said it expects to announce a replacement non-executive director for Jacobs before his departure in June.
