Swiss International Air Lines has been named Best International Airline by the Travel Trade Gazette of Russia, the respected travel-sector magazine. The award was presented at the Moscow International Travel & Tourism Show, Europe’s second-biggest travel trade fair.The MITT is Europe’s second-biggest tourist and travel fair. And SWISS is one of over 140 Swiss companies which are attending the event at the Swiss Confederation’s stand, under the overall aegis of the Switzerland Tourism organisation. Pride of place in the SWISS display has been given to the new Airbus A340 Business Class seat.

SWISS sees this latest distinction as a welcome confirmation of its efforts to further expand its presence in the Russian market.

The “Best International Airline” laurels from Russia are the latest in a series of awards that SWISS has recently earned. In 2004 alone, the company has garnered two Mercury Awards in the product field and won several distinctions in Germany’s annual Business Traveller Awards. SWISS also collected various distinctions in 2003, including the World Travel Award for Best European Airline and the Skytrax award for Best Cabin Personnel.
