Mandarin Oriental, Washington D.C. Opens Its Doors

The luxurious Mandarin Oriental, Washington D.C. has opened its doors, bringing the hotel group’s signature oriental service excellence and distinct ‘East Meets West’ design to the U.S. capital.  A celebratory ribbon cutting and feng shui ceremony marked the hotel’s official opening on March 27 and was attended by local politicians and dignitaries, including Mayor Anthony Williams and Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton.Situated in the heart of Washington, D.C.‘s monuments and museums with breathtaking views overlooking the Potomac and the city, this urban resort features 400 elegantly appointed guestrooms and suites, the chic Café MoZU restaurant and Empress Lounge, a ballroom accommodating up to 900 people, a variety of meeting rooms, as well as a lawn garden providing a picturesque setting for memorable events.

To celebrate the arrival of this exclusive hotel, Mandarin Oriental has introduced a special opening promotion available until August 31, 2004.  Guests will enjoy one complimentary night accommodation in conjunction with one or more paid room nights, subject to availability.  Rates range from US$350 for a District Standard Room per night to US$1,700 for a Water Executive Deluxe Suite. 
All accommodation features luxurious Fili D’Oro linens, elegant furnishings with oriental touches, high-speed Internet access, three dual-line phones with voicemail, flat screen televisions with HDTV, Aromatherapy Associates bath amenities and lavish marble bathrooms, many with views from generous soaking tubs.

During the month of May, the hotel will open its signature spa, a 10,400 square foot facility complete with eight state-of-the-art treatment rooms, an amethyst crystal steam room, vitality pools, fitness centre and indoor lap pool with sun deck.  In the coming months, a signature fine dining restaurant will complete the hotel’s luxurious facilities.
