Northwest Airlines to Resume Memphis Service

Northwest Airlines today announced daily nonstop jet service between its
hub at Memphis and Quad City International Airport, serving Moline and
Rock Island, Ill., and Davenport and Bettendorf, Iowa. One daily flight
will be offered beginning May 1, with a second to be added June 10.
The route, previously served with a turboprop aircraft, was suspended in
June 2003. It will now be reinstated with the larger Canadair Regional Jet
(CRJ).

“These flights will provide convenient options for customers in the Quad
Cities to destinations in the southern United States through our hub at
Memphis,” Tom Bach, vice president of market planning and Airlink, said
during an airport news conference. “Along with six daily flights between
the Quad Cities and our hub in Minneapolis-St. Paul and four daily flights
from the Quad Cities to our WorldGateway hub at Detroit, Northwest will
provide unparalleled choices to hundreds of cities across the United
States, Canada, Europe and Asia from our three domestic hubs.”

“I am very pleased that we have access to another Northwest Airlines hub
using regional jets,” said Bruce Carter, director of aviation at Quad City
International Airport. “Memphis will be an excellent gateway to connect
our passengers to many Southeast cities and other domestic destinations.
Northwest continues to have a strong presence here, and will have the most
flights out of the Quad City International airport by this summer.”

With these flights, Northwest and its Northwest Airlink partners will
offer 215 daily non-stop flights from Memphis to 89 destinations.

The service will be operated with Northwest Airlink partner Pinnacle
Airlines Corp.‘s 44- or 50-passenger CRJ. The CRJ features a spacious
cabin with comfortable two-by-two leather seating and other cabin
amenities similar to larger jets, such as overhead bins, a galley,
lavatory, and an efficient climate control system to ensure passenger
comfort.
