Edgewater Beach Resort Inspires Wonder and Awe

Poised Gulf-front along Panama City Beach, Edgewater Beach Resort entices
guests to experience captivating dolphin encounters in their natural
habitat, swim with dolphins at Gulf World Marine Park, explore the
uninhabited Shell Island and delight in the original family destination
that has lured generations to the “World’s Most Beautiful Beaches” with
the Dolphin Discoveries rate starting at $132 per night* March 1 - May 31,
2004.
At Gulf World Marine Park guests of Edgewater Beach Resort get up close
and personal with porpoises, learning the commands that instruct dolphins
to flip, twirl, sing and laugh. Families even take a swim around the pool
while holding on to the dolphin’s dorsal fin. The park also features
marine shows set to entertaining music and displays a nightly laser light
extravaganza.

Located only five minutes from Edgewater Beach Resort, guests find a
sequestered paradise at the 1,260-acre St. Andrews State Recreation Area,
surrounded with rolling sand dunes, woodlands, marshes and the sparkling
green Gulf. A quick 10-minute ferry ride from the park leads to the
secluded Shell Island—home to one of the world’s highest concentrations
of bottle-nosed dolphins. A natural, undeveloped barrier island,
(accessible only by boat) Shell Island entices sun-seekers with the
natural wonders of a private paradise. At the Island, guests enjoy an
enchanting day of snorkeling in the emerald-green Gulf among dolphins and
rainbow-hued fish and sun-bathing on sugary white sands.

At Edgewater Beach Resort each of the 550 spacious full-service suites are
individually decorated and are completely furnished with fully equipped
kitchens. The resort offers relaxing spa treatments, 36 holes of scenic
golf nestled among wetlands, marshes, lakes and preserves, 11 Plexicushion
tennis courts, a fitness center with state-of-the art equipment and 12
pools including the 11,000 sq. ft. Lagoon Pool complete with cascading
waterfalls, natural foliage, reflection ponds and hot tubs.
