BWEE introduces non-stop flight to St. Lucia

BWIA West Indies Airways, the international scheduled airline of the Caribbean, has announced the introduction of direct flights from the UK to St Lucia Hewanorra Airport, commencing 17th February 2004.BWIA has operated to St Lucia from the UK for over 20 years, and with the recently-announced arrival of the carrier’s second A340-300 aircraft, there will now be a return to the twice-weekly non-stop service, in addition to the current daily connections via Barbados, Antigua or Port of Spain which are operated in conjunction with BWIA’s intra-Caribbean partner LIAT.BWIA’s Director of Sales & Marketing UK/Europe, Peter Iland, commented: “We are very pleased to be launching this non-stop service to St Lucia, offering our passengers a quick and convenient way of travelling to one of the Caribbean’s most popular destinations”.The flights will operate on Tuesdays and Sundays in both directions from/to London Heathrow Airport using A340-300 aircraft. Outbound flights will depart at 11.05, arriving St Lucia at 15.55. Return flights will depart at 21.00 and return to London at 09.25 the following day.
