Sabre Airline Solutions Implements Asia’s Resource Management Suite

Sabre Airline Solutions

has announced that it has signed a major agreement in Asia with Jardines Aviation Services Group (JASG) for the implementation of the region’s first new-generation, integrated Resource Management Suite to efficiently manage JASG staff and equipment resources. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
The implementation will cover JASG passenger and ramp handling services at Hong Kong International Airport at Chek Lap Kok, Asia’s busiest airport with more than 30 million passengers arriving or transiting annually. Currently, JASG provides services for more than 30 airlines and cargo handlers.

The key enhancements of the resource management suite include Sabre StaffPlan staff forecasting and planning system, Sabre StaffAdmin employee tracking and assignment system, and Sabre StaffManager automated staff allocation system. The implementation will enable JASG to:

  — significantly reduce the manual process in forecasting and planning
      tasks for staff and equipment,
  — track and assign appropriate staff rosters,
  — offer ground handling services at controlled cost, and
  — handle increased business with budgeted resources.

According to David Clymo, JASG Finance Director, Sabre Airline Solutions was awarded the contract due to the company’s ability to address specific requirements unique to Hong Kong International Airport.

“JASG required an efficient and centralized staff and equipment planning system for both passenger and ramp handling that would enable a move away from the current non-centralized setup,” Clymo said. “We visited several Sabre Airline Solutions RMS customers throughout Europe and could see similarities with our operations. After an intensive evaluation, Sabre Airline Solutions was proven to offer the best-of-breed customized solution for the requirements of JASG, which was instrumental in the contract win.”

Cameron Curtis, Asia Pacific vice president for Sabre Airline Solutions, said the JASG implementation demonstrates the company’s ability to partner with different areas of the aviation industry and show proven results.

“This contract win with JASG validates our aptitude in tailoring solutions for all areas of the aviation industry, not just airlines,” said Curtis. “By listening to client requirements Sabre Airline Solutions is able to leverage our solutions expertise and experience in delivering functional and process enhancements that provide a rapid and measurable return on investment.”

Sabre Airline Solutions has an enviable client list throughout the Asia Pacific region including airlines, Asian government departments and ground handling companies. The company is the Asia Pacific market leader in aviation technology and has experienced rapid growth in the region. More than 65 contracts have been signed in 2003 across a broad product portfolio, which includes flight planning and scheduling, flight operations, crew management, cargo operations and revenue management.

Currently, Sabre Airline Solutions counts more than 30 Asia Pacific airlines as customers, including Air New Zealand, Cathay Pacific, China Airlines, THAI, China Eastern, China Southern, Qantas and Singapore Airlines.
