Worldspan Offers Fully Inclusive Rental Car Rate in Europe

Worldspan

today announced the introduction of a new Fully Inclusive rental car rate category for the company’s Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) operations. The Fully Inclusive car rate, which includes all applicable taxes, fees, charges and required insurance payments, enables Worldspan-connected travel agencies throughout EMEA to offer clients a complete, ‘drive-away’ price, eliminating confusion at the point of rental and ensuring greater customer satisfaction.

Worldspan is the first global distribution system (GDS) to offer a Fully Inclusive rate in Europe. Current participants in the programme include Alamo Rent A Car, Dollar Rent A Car, Enterprise Rent-A-Car, Europcar and National Car Rental. In the near future, Hertz Rent A Car will also be participating in Fully Inclusive Rates through Worldspan.

“No one likes surprises when they travel, especially at the rental car counter, and that’s exactly what Fully Inclusive rates via Worldspan will help prevent,” commented Graham Nichols, Worldspan vice president - EMEA. “Local surcharges can vary considerably from place to place, but the Fully Inclusive rate clarifies all those charges for the customer and the agent up front during the booking process. The result is fewer surprises and more satisfied customers.”

“Customers need to be able to book with confidence, knowing the full and complete price of the car they plan to rent. That is essential to a successful, enjoyable travel experience,” said AnnMari Dalon, International Reservations, GDS and Data Director for Europcar. “By providing Fully Inclusive rates through the Worldspan system, Worldspan is enabling us to market our products more effectively and deliver the high level of service our customers expect.”
