Angsana Spa Great Barrier Reef As Leading Spa In Oceania Region

Having completed a A$250,000 expansion and upgrading exercise late last year, Angsana Spa Great Barrier Reefå‘s recent accolade å‘Best Hotel Health/Day Spa Awardå’ at the inaugural HM Awards for Hotel & Accommodation Excellence across Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific, is timely with the recent launch of the groupå‘s first day spa venture, Angsana Spa Double Bay in Sydney, in February and its latest spa operation in Guam next month.
The two-and-a-half-year-old Angsana Spa beat five other spas in Australia including Four Seasons Hotel Sydney, Golden Door Spa at Cypress Lakes and Hyatt Regency Coolum to emerge the winner.
Hosted by HM or Hotel & Accommodation Management magazine and co-hosted by Hotel Motel & Accommodation Association (HMAA), Australian Automobile Association (AAA) Tourism, Blue Mountains Hotel School, and accommodation software company HiRUM, the Awards recognise the hard work and dedication from individuals, departments and properties across Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific.
Nominations were recommended by seasoned professionals in the hospitality and tourism industry, and short-listed by a distinguished panel of judges to 160 finalists in 36 categories.
“Winning this prestigious award reaffirms Angsana Spa Great Barrier Reef as the leading hotel spa in the region. It complements our operation in Double Bay, Sydney and the opening of our Angsana Spa the Guam Marriott Resort,” says Mr Nicholas Mason, General Manager of Angsana Resort & Spa Great Barrier Reef. “This honour is the fruition of an upgrading and expansion exercise, embarked on when the spa was barely 18 months old. In response to growing consumer demand, we’ve added five air-conditioned Spa Therapy Suites to the existing three rooftop spa pavilions. Our staff is ready to bring service to the next level of excellence with these new facilities and a newly-introduced, inventive Spa Menu.”
In a planned development to further the Angsana brand’s and the group’s market position in the Oceania region, Angsana Spa Guam will herald the group’s foray into the Pacific Islands, hard on the heels of its first Day Spa in Sydney, Australia, another key market in the Oceania region.
Emphasising the use of freshly prepared natural ingredients and therapeutic sense of touch, Angsana Spa therapies are steeped in age-old Asian health and beauty remedies. At the Angsana spas in Great Barrier Reef, Sydney and Guam, our therapies are given a modern twist with a fusion of techniques from the East and West to impart a sense of Asian exoticism and suit the needs of the modern spa goers.
