Brownes & Co. Apothecary and Some Like It Hot Salon, the bustling beauty emporium in Miami Beach, Florida, has expanded to include Brownes Beauty Lounge, the result of a two year, half million dollar face lift. Co-owners Nikki Mallon and Gary Feinberg have transformed the historic buildingå‘s second floor, converting the Art Deco office area into a 11,000 sq-ft day spa.

The company states; “Brownes Beauty Lounge stands out among the crop of day spas and luxury hotel spas that are proliferating throughout South Florida. In keeping with the formula that boosted Brownes to national prominence, we have retained the shop’s homegrown mystique, creating an oasis of individuality and charm. With a luxurious day spa, salon and retail store stocking niche brands all under one roof, Brownes is pioneering the concept of a one-stop-shop for top-to-toe body and soul maintenance. Further spiritual nourishment will be available, with a yoga and Pilates studio set to open later this year.”

Since opening, Brownes Beauty Lounge has developed a reputation as the South Florida source for hard to find international beauty lines; becoming a magnet for models and celebrities such as Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck, Tyra Banks and Gloria Estefan. Some Like It Hot, which first opened in 1991, attracted a loyal clientele for signature blossom pedicures, cutting edge colour and innovative styling. In order to meet client demands and continuing industry trends, the idea for a day spa was the logical next step.

“It feels great to take it to the next level,” enthuses Mallon. “We`d already established ourselves as a funky spot to get all the latest goodies, have a relaxing pedicure or a great cut. Now, we`re adding a whole new level of luxury and service with a holistic, all natural approach.”

When designing the spa, Mallon wanted to offer clients the most beneficial natural therapies using the world`s purest products - already a devotee, Nikki approached British spa brand Elemis.
Recently launched in to the US, the Elemis range of products now available at Brownes includes everything from Exotic Lime & Ginger Salt Glow to Skin Nourishing Milk Bath plus the newly launched and highly acclaimed Pro-Collagen Marine Cream.
