The five-star Le Meridien Limassol Spa and Resort has announced plans to become a self-contained luxury resort exclusively available for residents, the first hotel on the island with a Residents Only policy. The move, which comes into effect this month, will provide guests with total exclusivity in terms of the hotel and its many facilities. Selected international tour operators as well as conference and incentive organisers have been advised about the new structure.

Le Meridien Limassol Spa & Resort, was build in 1989 and it’s a member of the international chain of Le Meridien Hotels & Resorts. Today, the hotel complex owns land of about 118,000 sq-m of beautifully landscaped gardens with waterfalls and grottoes.

The idea, the extensions and the upgrading in order to become a Residents Only property started four years ago in the first half of 1999 when two million pounds was invested and included the following projects:

The Penguin Village playground.

The extension and refurbishment of the kitchen and the restaurant Le Café Fleuri.

The extension and upgrading of the Health Club.

The upgrading of the presidential suites.

The construction of 10 additional rooms.

The extension of the bar La Promenade.

The addition of La Sirene night club.

The construction of new conference room.

Upgrading of the hotel complex in 2000, which was a seven million pound investment included the following :

Construction of the Royal Spa Wing with 18 Superior Spa Rooms, six Jacuzzi Cabanas and four Royal Spa Suites.

The biggest Thalassotherapy / Spa in Europe with seven Thalasso pools and 32 treatment rooms. This has already been voted as one of the top four Spas in the world.

Two new fresh water swimming pools and one seawater all heated in winter.

New specialty restaurant - Sushi Japanese - Kojima.

Four artificial grass tennis courts.

Extensive landscaping within the hotel complex.

Conversion of 13 bungalows to garden villa suites with a private pool and dining terrace.

This year’s further upgrading of the hotel complex which is estimated at five million pounds, was completed earlier this year to enable Le Meridien Limassol Spa & Resorts to introduce its innovative style of operation offering complete privacy and exclusive facilities for in-house guests only.
