OCHO RIOS, JAMAICA (June 2002) — Sandals Resorts International (SRI), the largest operator of all-inclusive resorts in the Caribbean, is putting a polished foot forward this summer: two new resorts open this summer, Beaches Boscobel Resort & Golf Club and Sandals Grande St. Lucian Spa & Beach Resort, and a US$10 million renovation project at Sandals Ocho Rios Resort & Golf Club is nearing completion.
Renovations at Sandals Ocho Rios include the addition of seven Honeymoon Penthouse ocean-front one-bedroom suites making this 237-room resort even more spectacular this summer.  The new suites overlooking the sparkling blue Caribbean Sea feature large bedrooms and living rooms, mini bars and spacious Roman baths, offering guests premium value. 
In addition to new suites, the resort refurbished the entryway, adding a porte-cachere creating a new eco-friendly “water park,” complete with a stream that flows into a waterfall crisscrossed with boardwalks and edged by seating areas with landscaping featuring lush native flora. Ocho Rios is now officially “Green Globe” certified. A newly retiled and refurbished lobby area has also been completed.

The new boutique spa and gym offers four exclusive treatment rooms, including a couples massage room, and professional spa therapists provide the latest aromatherapy treatments, Swedish massage, body scrubs and wraps.  A new beauty salon offers manicures, pedicures, and make-up and hair styling.  Other new features are the newly redone Piano Bar, ideal for an evening of fun, and a wedding gazebo overlooking the sea at Reef Terrace.
Additional refurbishments include upgrades to the Riviera Building: rooms on the fourth floor have new soft-furnishings, restoring a sense of style and elegance, while the Riviera Lobby boasts new mahogany furniture decorated in bright, lively colors.
The Concierge Floor rooms have been refurbished as well, making the resort’s highest category of rooms even better.  All boast four-poster beds, mini bars, cordless telephones, combination CD player and radio, and plush robes.  Decorated with beautiful oil paintings and stately marble columns, the new Valentino’s restaurant brings a taste of Italy to the Caribbean with its delicious Italian cuisine and elegant white-glove service.
