Sprint PCS, Sabre and Travelocity Team for Wireless Travel Services

Sprint PCS yesterday formed an agreement with Sabre Holdings Corp. and Travelocity.com, enabling the companies to make their online travel services accessible to Sprint PCS` more than 1 million customers using the wireless Web.
The agreement allows Sabre, a technology and marketing services provider, and Travelocity, an online travel company, to place a co-branded link on Sprint PCS` travel folder on the company`s wireless Web site. The link would drive Sprint PCS customers to a Web page with separate links to both companies` Web sites, said Suzanne Lammers, manager of media relations at Sprint PCS.
Sabre, Fort Worth, TX, owns 70 percent of Travelocity, said Nancy Raynor, general manager at Sabre Virtually There, www.virtuallythere.com, the company`s personalized travel Web site.
Raynor said Sabre`s goal is to broaden the company`s reach and provide online travel services to on-the-move customers.
“[Since] Virtually There is already a selection under the travel category,” Raynor said, “it makes it easier for the traveler to access it rather than having to search on the Web.”
