Three appointees to the management team of the yet-to-be-launched Orbitz travel site were announced yesterday. Gerhard Romanescu joins as VP Customer Care, Michael Sands as VP Marketing and Michael Sites as VP Product Marketing.
Mr. Romanescu, held a similar position at Swissair, while Mr. Sands joins Orbitz from Giant Step, an e-solutions provider to Fortune 100 companies.
Mr. Sites served as VP e-commerce at Sabre.
Orbitz, a joint venture of American, Continental, Delta, Northwest and United Airlines, anticipates launching in June next year.
