Another 21 meeting rooms for WOW Istanbul

The leading tourism brand, WOW Istanbul Hotels & Convention Centre initiates another important investment, increasing its capacity by adding a further 21 conference rooms.

A new investment slated to begin in February, 2012 will increase the number of meeting rooms at the WOW Convention Centre from 13 to 34, meeting capacity to 8,500 m2 and seating capacity to 6,500 people.

Ziya Cihan, General Director of WOW Istanbul Hotels & Convention Centre, underlined that Istanbul has reached 7th place in convention tourism in the world, stating, “Keeping this growth and an ever-increasing demand for meetings in mind, we decided on our new construction investment, which began in July this year. We were already home to Istanbul’s largest conference room at 3,108 m². This new investment means that we will have the largest meeting capacity with accommodations in Istanbul. The largest conference room in this project will have ceilings seven metres high and encompass a total area of 1200 m². The conference room, which has a capacity of 1000 people, will be divisible into three sections. Other meeting rooms within the same complex will vary in size from 70 m² to 225 m². The new project will also include a VIP lounge with a relaxation area as well as business and meeting rooms. In addition to the meeting rooms, there will be social areas available providing entertainment and food & drink services to cater to our guests’ needs.

Incorporating 34 rooms, this new $20 million project will contribute to the vicinity and increase the available meeting capacity in Istanbul. Thanks to this new project taking place at the WOW Convention Center, Ye?ilköy is well on the way towards taking a major step in becoming Istanbul’s second largest Convention Valley.”

The WOW Istanbul Hotels & Convention Center comprises of the four-star WOW Airport Hotel, the five-star WOW Istanbul Hotel and the WOW Convention Center within the same complex. Emphasising the significance of this aspect of the complex, Ziya Cihan stated, “With 635 rooms and a 1,270 bed capacity, our convention centre has the biggest accommodation capacity in Istanbul. More importantly, however, we are able to use these three buildings either separately or as a single facility. Our experienced team and special gift concepts combined with this physical structure make it possible for us to make a difference for every kind of event such as conferences, meetings and accommodations.
