AirTran Airways kicks off flights to Nassau, Bahamas

AirTran Airways, a subsidiary of AirTran Holdings, Inc. (NYSE:  AAI), today continued expanding its roster of tropical vacation destinations, launching nonstop flights to Nassau, Bahamas, from Atlanta, Baltimore/Washington and Orlando. The new service makes its debut alongside the low fare carrier’s new flights to Key West, Fla., which also start today.

The airline will offer daily flights to Nassau out of Atlanta, four times per week service from Baltimore/Washington and five times per week service from Orlando.

“After introducing flights to San Juan and Cancun earlier this year, AirTran Airways continues to meet passenger demand for leisure travel in the Caribbean,” said Matthew Klein, director of pricing and distribution planning for AirTran Airways. “Our service to Nassau comes just in time for travelers to escape the cold weather and warm up during the winter holidays and the New Year.”
