AirTran Airways continues to expand service to vacation hotspots

AirTran Airways, a subsidiary of AirTran Holdings, Inc. (NYSE:  AAI), today launched nonstop service to Key West (Fla.) International Airport in from Orlando International Airport.

With four flights each week, AirTran Airways is the only low-cost carrier to provide scheduled, full-sized jet access to the island with its fleet of modern, Wi-Fi equipped Boeing 737s.

“Orlando’s hometown airline, AirTran Airways, serves more non-stop destinations from Orlando than any carrier, and full-size jet service to Key West is our latest exciting addition,” said John Kirby, senior director strategic planning for AirTran Airways. “The Conch Republic was the most requested new route out of Orlando, and AirTran Airways continues to meet passenger demands while providing the low fares and high-quality service our travelers expect.”

AirTran Airways is also expanding service to the Caribbean today by launching nonstop flights to Nassau, Bahamas, in addition to existing routes to San Juan, Puerto Rico, and Cancun, Mexico. Additionally, the carrier will launch nonstop service to Aruba on Saturday, and flights to Montego Bay, Jamaica, will begin in February, providing more vacation destinations than ever for passengers.
