Signature Life Hotels opens luxury beach property

Burgeoning South African hospitality brand Signature Life Hotels has unveiled a new property in time for this summer’s Fifa World Cup.

The Canelands Beach Club & Resort has opened in the upmarket village of Salt Rock, and boasts an unrivalled beach side setting, just two metres away from the beach.

The luxurious and elegant ten-bedroom property (all en-suite and four of which face the beach directly) prides itself on it immaculate attention to detail and reflects the simplicity of ocean life, and the lush north coast setting.

This gorgeous four-star resort is likely to be very popular with holiday makers, business travellers and wedding couples alike.

Dining is at “the Restaurant @ Canelands” with a sea view and deck seating 40 people. The menu will be designed with a simple, fresh, natural and creative flair, with cooking in-front of the restaurant patrons.

The property offers conferencing facilities for up to 30 people, making it the perfect venue for team building, a breakaway or a wedding reception.

There’s also the unique Canelands “service” – lie on the beach with your own flag and if you want waiter service you simply plant the flag upright next to you! On site elegant and personal attention to detail is the hallmark of this idyllic “home from home” – on the beach.

Other facilities include Wi-Fi, state of the art showers, flat screen TVs, and the closest you will ever be to the Indian Ocean.

Caneland is part of the portfolio of Signature Life, the fast-growing South African hospitality company, formed through the convergence of several of South Africa’s top hoteliers.

The chain has been nominated for “Africa’s Leading Innovative Hospitality Operator” by the World Travel Awards. The glittering ceremony will take place in the Sandton Convention Centre, Johannesburg on 7 July, the final week of the Fifa 2010 World Cup.

Alan Vels, Managing Director Signature Life Hotels, said: “We are delighted with this nomination. The World Travel Awards is prestigious and highly recognised globally, and we are proud that as a new hospitality management company we have been chosen for this category.”

Other properties include Docklands-Durban waterfront, Jozini Tiger Lodge, Jozini Dam - the Hotel on the Park,  Durban - Hotel 64 on Gordon,  Durban and Caledon Manor Boutique Hotel Spa at Umhlali KZN.

New resorts in both Mozambique and Madagascar are next to open.
