New luxury ski hotel Niseko Kyo hosted its official ribbon cutting and opening ceremony on Friday 20th of October ahead of the launch for guests on November 30th - ready for Niseko’s 2023/34 season. The ceremony was attended by regional Mayor Kazushi Monji, renowned owner Datuk Seri Robert Tan and representatives of the architectural firm H2 Planning and builder Iwata Chizaki.

Managed by Niseko property management and travel company The Luxe Nomad, who recently acquired NISADE Japan’s property management business, Niseko Kyo’s location provides direct access to the popular Ace Family Run at Grand Hirafu, Niseko and is just 30 metres from the lift gates.

Since development picked up with foreign investment and promotion in the past 20 years, Niseko has developed a reputation as Asia’s best ski resort.

The resort is increasingly popular with visitors from Asia, Europe and the United States and is well-known for its off-piste powder snow and 15 metre plus seasonal snowfall. The resort is also known for its extensive on-piste courses - and Japan’s most extensive lit night skiing experience.

You can really feel that vision when you see the ski access”.

Niseko Kyo offers 22 residences in total from the 1st to 5th floors with the 6 Bedroom Penthouse on the 6th. The ski access and concierge are located on the B2 floor along with the restaurant. The property features in-room and balcony onsen hot spring from a natural well (including three onsen in the penthouse), as well as a shared onsen for guests who wish to experience things Japanese-style.

“Niseko Kyoz was designed with just 22 residences - but a full staff team - to ensure a service quality that matches the demands of the discerning guests this hotel will cater to” said Amon Bradshaw.

The luxury hotel will be home to Shirakaba by Naniwatei, led by executive chef Koji Murai. The restaurant will offer up to 12-course options featuring a high-end dining experience made with local seafood and produce.

During his opening speech Datuk Seri Robert Tan thanked the local Kutchan town office and Mayor Kazushi Monji for their support for a project and expressed his love for Niseko, especially the summer, and excitement for the future.

Niseko Kyo opens November 30th. With direct ski in ski out access, availability for early New Year, Chinese New Year and spring-skiing is expected to sell-out quickly once Niseko’s winter travellers return. Rates start from ¥50,000 ($334USD) per night.
