From April 4 to 6, 2025, acclaimed Sicilian artist Matteo Mauro will take part in the prestigious MIART 2025 art fair in Milan, showcasing his work with Prometeo Gallery by Ida Pisani. The event will be held at Allianz MiCo Central, welcoming collectors, curators, and art lovers from around the world.

This latest collaboration between Mauro and Prometeo Gallery follows their successful appearances at major international art events such as Artissima (Turin), ArteFiera (Bologna), ArtVerona, and ARCO Madrid. At MIART, Mauro will present selected works from two of his most distinctive series: Bronze on Canvas and Inscriptions on Canvas.

Blending sculpture and painting, Bronze on Canvas explores the transformative nature of bronze as both medium and subject. These hybrid works evoke the molten transition of metal from solid to liquid, inviting viewers to contemplate change and the fluid boundaries of artistic form.

In contrast, Inscriptions on Canvas offers a meditation on the purity and resilience of the line. Created in oil, these abstract compositions embrace minimalism, resisting representational form while engaging in a quiet dialogue with hyperrealism. Each line stands alone—fluid, instinctive, and expressive—like wind-drawn gestures across the canvas.

Mauro’s works will be on view in MIART’s “Established” section, which bridges the past and present by featuring galleries that highlight both cutting-edge contemporary pieces and iconic 20th-century artworks.
