Hotel Indigo Edinburgh scoops top scottish award

Hotel Indigo Edinburgh is celebrating with its guests this week as it was named Brand Hotel of the Year in the 12th Annual Scottish Awards.  The winners were announced at an awards ceremony and party attended by more than 500 hoteliers, staff and guests in Glasgow on Sunday night.

Hotel Indigo Edinburgh opened in 2012 on York Place.  This charming boutique hotel is housed in a beautiful listed building dating from the 18th century and many of the original features have been retained.

John Shevlin, Regional General Manager for Splendid Hospitality Group which owns and manages the hotel said:  “It is fantastic to win this award and I am thrilled that all the hard work put in by my team has been recognised.  We all work very hard to make sure that every guest’s stay is special and we like to have some fun as well.”

Stuart Bailey, CEO of Splendid Hospitality Group said: “This hotel really understands good intuitive guest service and well done to them all for winning this award.  I always enjoy my stay here and I know from the many reviews we get that our guests do too.  Their new Whisky Flight service is an experience I would recommend to everybody!”

The Scottish Awards is a year round scheme for encouraging, recognising and rewarding excellence in hospitality.  The best Brand Hotel category recognises how well a hotel succeeds in meeting the values and style set out for the particular brand under which it trades.  Good management is at the core of this award and judges seek out the branded hotel achieving the very most – ‘working the brand to the max’.
