Cruise lines, ports and retail agents alike have embraced the concept of winter cruising, not forgetting the cruise passengers themselves. For the lines it’s a chance to address the seasonality challenge and boost yields, ports welcome the chance to extend their season, retail agents to sell a new product and passengers to enjoy visit attractions off-peak in more moderate temperatures. Winter cruising is not without its challenges however; sound itinerary planning and weatherproof shorex are essential. There is also still great scope for growth and development.
