Commonwealth Games 2014
After a successful Flag Handover Ceremony, the Commonwealth Games Federation Flag is proudly waving from the top of Glasgow City Chambers for all to see. We have the baton. We all now have the opportunity to fulfil the dreams of those who dared to dream what the Games could do for Glasgow and Scotland, and deliver an outstanding Games that will engage and excite the people of Scotland.
Glasgow (Scotland) will host the 20th Commonwealth Games between 23 July - 3 August 2014.
The Scottish city was selected at the Commonwealth Games Federation’s (CGF) General Assembly on the 9 November 2007 in Colombo, Sri Lanka. The vote was made by the 71 Commonwealth Games Associations (CGA) resulting in Glasgow defeating Abuja (Nigeria) by 47 votes to 24.
