Kayak to debut new ad over festive period

A new television advert from the travel search engine Kayak that explores the exciting world of the sound of travel will make its debut on UK television from Boxing Day.

The advert – created in-house by Kayak and part of a wider integrated campaign – sees London DJ and producer duo Eli & Fur fly to Japan to create a music track based on the sounds they encounter while travelling the country – with the track itself featuring as the soundtrack to the advert.

After planning the trip on Kayak, the duo sets off and finds inspiration in the sounds of a geisha playing a shamisen, jamming with taiko drummers, and even the slurp of ramen.

Locations include the Fushimi Inari-taisha shrine in Kyoto, the Shibuya District of Tokyo, and onsens in Niigata.

The advert is the fourth in Kayak’s Travel Pros campaign which so far has included professional snowboarder Jeremy Jones, National Geographic wildlife photographer Mattias Klum, and chef Lauren Johns.

The advert will run in the UK, Polish, Spanish and French markets.
