Matthew Beckwith, operations director for City Cruises, has released some footage taken on the river Thames.

The images were shot during a routine check of the boats which have been docked since the service stopped operating last month.

It shows an eerily quiet London from the view of the river complete with running commentary from Beckwith as he sails past some of the most iconic landmarks.

The empty river, bridges and notable lack of people on the bankside shows a very different picture of London compared with this time last year and it will appear the same during what should have been a buzzing Easter on the River.
