Middle East stars to shine as Dubai hosts travel “Oscars”
The Middle East’s travel elite will celebrate their achievements when the World Travel Awards, the industry’s highest accolade, comes to Dubai on the 5 May 2009 at The Monarch.Over 500 travel and tourism brands from across the Middle East have been nominated for the awards, which is hailed as the “Oscars of the Travel Industry” by the Wall Street Journal.
Royal Jet scoops World Travel Award
Royal Jet has been named the “World’s Leading Private Jet Charter” by the World Travel Awards for the second year running. The top award was presented to H.E. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Royal Jet’s Chairman, by WTA President and Founder, Graham Cooke (pictured left).

Winning a World Travel Award is the highest accolade an organisation in the travel and tourism industry can receive. So not surprisingly some of the biggest smiles at last week’s Caribbean Marketplace 2009 belonged to the proud winners of the prestigious awards, referred to as “the Oscars of the travel industry” by the Wall Street Journal. The winners won the legendary trophies last month at the World Travel Awards Grand Final in Turks & Caicos.Pictured above is Leandro Cruz from Casa de Campo, voted “World’s Leading Golf Resort” at the World Travel Awards Grand Final 2008 in Turk & Caicos.
