Uganda bomb blasts kills 64 football fans

At least 64 football fans were killed whilst watching the World Cup final in a series of co-ordinated explosions in Uganda. The suicide bombers were suspected to be part of the Somalian Islamist group Al-Shabab, which has strong links with Al Qaeda.

The giant slick from the BP oil spillage is nearing Florida’s prized sandy beaches, according to officials. They have identified a sheen, containing thousands of tar balls and debris from the Gulf of Mexico oil leak, which is now only nine miles from Pensacola on the Panhandle.
