Tauck has announced its 2015 solo traveller savings, and the company has again eliminated the single supplement on its Category 1 European riverboat cabins. In addition, Tauck is reducing the single supplement by to over £650 on 161 departures of 62 itineraries to four continents.
Tauck has released the first photos of its innovative lower-level “loft” cabins. Under a new policy, guests will now enjoy unlimited beer, wine and premium spirits throughout the day aboard Tauck’s four existing Jewel Class ships and on its two new Inspiration Class ships launching this year. Travelers on Tauck’s riverboats had previously enjoyed unlimited wine and beer with onboard meals only.
Tauck is again rolling out the red carpet for solo travelers in 2014, eliminating the single supplement on its Category 1 European riverboat cabins, and reducing the single supplement by up to $600 on 158 departures of 64 itineraries to five continents.
Tauck has disclosed the names of the two new riverboats it will launch next year, and announced that the ships will each be considerably longer than the four sister-ships that currently comprise the company’s fleet. The new ships, the ms Inspire and ms Savor, will both be 443 feet long, compared to Tauck’s existing ships which each measure 361 feet. Despite being 23% longer, the two newbuilds will only accommodate 130 guests each, or just 10% more than its current ships.
Tauck has announced a new 16-day land and sea exploration of Hong Kong, Vietnam and Singapore centered around an 11-day cruise aboard the new luxury small ship, Le Soléal. Scheduled to launch this summer in Italy, the 466-foot ship has a capacity of 264 passengers and it will also be featured on selected 2013 sailings of Tauck’s cruise exploration of Iceland.
Tauck announced today that it will welcome two newbuilds into its fleet of European riverboats next year, bringing the total number of Tauck ships on Europe’s rivers to six. According to company officials, the new vessels are slated to launch in March and June of 2014. In addition Tauck will launch four new river cruise itineraries in Europe next year.
Tauck and the award-winning filmmaker Ken Burns have crafted a new 11-day cultural exploration of the Mississippi River that will launch early next year as part of the company’s “Ken Burns American Journeys” collection.
Good news is at hand for solo travelers frustrated by paying a higher per-person cabin rate than cruisers sharing a stateroom with a spouse or friend. Tauck is dropping the “single supplement” for Category 1 cabins on each of its 2013 European river cruises. The savings apply to every departure on all 14 of Tauck’s European river cruise itineraries.
Tauck is seeing robust growth in preseason bookings for its 2013 small ship ocean cruises, the company announced today. According to Tauck CEO Dan Mahar, sales for the coming year’s cruise departures are running 50% ahead of last year, and a whopping 120% ahead of two years ago. The strong preseason bookings follow a very good year for Tauck’s 2012 small ship cruises, said Mahar.
Tauck is introducing a new river cruise on the Rhone that celebrates and explores the rich culinary traditions of France. The new 10-day “A Taste of France” itinerary begins with a two-night hotel stay and exploration of local food culture in Paris, followed by a seven-night river cruise through the Rhone Valley aboard Tauck’s MS Swiss Emerald riverboat.
Three generations of Tauck family members, local dignitaries, travel agents and journalists gathered in Cologne, Germany, earlier for the christening of Tauck’s newest riverboat, the MS Treasures. The ship is the fourth new Tauck riverboat launched within the last five years.
