Swiss makes cabin updates to become first allergy-friendly airline
Swiss International Air Lines will be introducing a number of ground and inflight products from May onwards that are specifically designed to enhance the air travel experience for allergy sufferers. These innovations will include new alternative (lactose- and gluten-free) food and drinks, along with changes to the cabin interior.
Swiss - Passenger volumes remain high for 2013
Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS) transported 15,968,833 passengers systemwide in 2013 – a 0.9% increase on the previous year (2012: 15,819,558). Total available-seat-kilometre (ASK) capacity for the year was raised 3.7%; and the increase was fully absorbed by the growth in traffic volume, which was up 4.7% in revenue-passenger-kilometre (RPK) terms

SWISS launches non-stop flights to Singapore
Swiss International Air Lines has launched its new daily non-stop service between Singapore and Zurich, Switzerland. The new service, LX 179 will take off from Singapore Changi Airport Terminal 2 today, operated by an Airbus A340-300 aircraft.

Expedia Affiliate Network, the private label arm of the world’s largest online travel company, today expands its share of the airline market thanks to a new partnership with Swiss International Air Lines. SWISS leadership returns to full strength following board appointments
The SWISS management board is complete once again, following the appointment of Markus Binkert and Roland Busch to the positions of chief commercial and chief operating officer respectively. Binkert moves up from the role of head of sales & marketing Switzerland, Germany & Austria with SWISS, while Busch is presently head of finance & information management at Lufthansa.
Swiss to introduce new Zurich-Kiev service
Swiss International Air Lines is to add Kiev to its European route network from the start of the 2013/14 winter schedules. The Ukrainian capital will receive daily service from Zurich from 27 October onwards. The flights will be operated with Airbus A320 equipment seating 152 passengers.
Boeing signs six plane deal with SWISS
Boeing, the Lufthansa Group and Swiss International Air Lines have announced a commitment today for six 777-300ER (Extended Range) airplanes. The airplanes, valued at $1.9 billion at list prices, were selected for the airline’s long-haul fleet renewal.

SWISS to launch new flights from Zurich to Singapore
Swiss International Air Lines has confirmed it will launch a new service between Singapore and Zurich next May. The new route will be operated using Airbus A340-300 aircraft offering 219 seats.
Swiss Air Lines boost Miami flight capacity
Swiss International Air Lines has announced it is adding another flight to its current Miami-Zurich route this fall offering passengers more choices to Switzerland and beyond. Starting November 29th, the new flight will offer service to Zurich an additional four times a week beyond the current daily schedule.
