Qatar Airways has purchased the Sheraton Skyline hotel in the UK, one of the best-located hotels for travellers using Heathrow Airport and a perfect base for a trip into central London or the rest of England. The hotel will continue to be managed by Starwood under the Sheraton brand. The Sheraton Skyline is the first hotel to be bought by Qatar Airways outside of Qatar, where it owns the five-star Oryx Rotana Hotel in Doha and runs the new Hamad International Airport Hotel, which includes squash courts and a swimming pool.

Starwood Hotels & Resorts is opening the Sheraton Xishuangbanna Hotel, marking Starwood’s entry in Yunnan Province, and the first internationally-branded hotel with on-site hot springs in the Prefecture of Xishuangbanna. Xishuangbanna, located at the extreme southern tip of Yunnan Provincel, comprises 326 guest rooms and suites, all equipped with a balcony with expansive views of the tropical rainforest landscape.

Turkey is gearing up for its first Four Points by Sheraton property, following a franchise agreement between Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide and Ever Group for the new-build Four Points by Sheraton Istanbul Dudullu. With an opening scheduled for the end of 2014, the The 182-room property is to be the inaugural Starwood hotel to open on the Asian side of Istanbul.

Starwood Hotels & Resorts has announced its world-renowned Sheraton brand has expanded its footprint in Thailand with the opening of Sheraton Hua Hin Pranburi Villas in Prachuap Khirikhan, a province famed for its sandy coastline and popular resort towns of Hua Hin and Pranburi.  The converted and rebranded 55-villa property is owned by Honor Business Company Limited, a Bangkok-based property development firm that also owns the 240-room Sheraton Hua Hin Resort & Spa.
