The Seychelles Broadcasting Corporation (SBC) has just recorded a live forum on the coming March 2 carnival in the Seychelles for a nationwide viewing this week. It was the popular TV and radio presenter, Nathalie Rose, who was given the task to moderate this televised forum filmed in at the heart of Victoria at the Rendez Vous Restaurant.
The excitement surrounding the “Carnaval International de Victoria” seems to be spreading far and wide as Seychellois communities overseas embrace the event with as much enthusiasm as the crowd back home. The latest news is that two entertainment groups from the United Kingdom, owned and managed by Seychellois, are travelling to Seychelles to be part of this big manifestation, which will take place in the heart of Victoria.
The Notting Hill Carnival Roadshow Company has confirmed that they will be present again this year at the “Carnaval International de Victoria” in the Seychelles. They have also confirmed that they will be presenting a new set of costumes at the 2012 Seychelles “Carnaval International de Victoria.”
Seychelles will soon be hosting its grand “Carnaval International de Victoria,” and once again a theme song for this national event has been launched.
Julie Kim from the Seychelles Tourism Board Korea-based Office confirmed today that a Korean delegation is flying in from Seoul, Korea, to participate in the 2012 Carnival being staged in Seychelles. The Korean procession team will have a decorated truck featuring Korean traditional items and will have Korean traditional percussionists on board.
The Seychelles Tourism Board has confirmed that the Samba Queen from PARAISO Escola de SAMBA is personally heading a delegation of Brazilian Samba Dancers to the 2012 Carnival in Seychelles. The group is currently in the UK and will be flying into Seychelles alongside the Notting Hill Carnival delegation.
The Russian Ambassador, Mr. Mihail Kalinin, has confirmed that the Russian warship, Admiral Tributs, is coming to Seychelles from March 1-5, 2012 to take part in the Carnaval International de Victoria.
The Seychelles Tourism Board has confirmed that the Dusseldorf Carnival of Germany is one of the new delegations coming to the 2012 “Carnival of Carnivals” in the Seychelles.
Alain St.Ange, the CEO of the Seychelles Tourism Board (STB), and Pascal Viroleau of the Ile de La Reunion Tourisme (IRT), held meetings in La Reunion with delegations from La Region government of La Reunion headed by Mr. Jean-Francois Sita, the Vice President of La Reunion, at their Saint Denis offices.
The Secretary General of ASEAN (Association of the South East Asia Nations), H.E. Dr. Surin Pitsuwan, has confirmed that he will personally attend the Indian Ocean Vanilla Islands Carnival that will be held in Seychelles from March 2-4.
