SAS Group to cut 800 jobs in ‘final call’ restructuring
Another day, another struggling flag-carrier announces a radical overhaul of its operations as it battles for its existence. Air France, Qantas, and Iberia were today joined by SAS Group, which revealed a “new comprehensive” plan which it hopes will pave the way for a new, strong and competitive airline.

The frequent flyer programmes of Scandinavian Airlines and airBaltic as well as the South American loyalty coalition network Multiplus have become the latest partners for Worldhotels. The three partners EuroBonus, BalticMiles and Multiplus complement the largest selection of frequent flyer and loyalty programmes offered by any independent hotel group.

SAS is Europe’s most punctual airline for third year in a row
Scandinavian Airlines has officially been named Europe’s most punctual airline, for the third year in a row, by the independent source Flightstats. SAS was also the world’s third most punctual airline after Japanese airlines ANA and JAL. For 2011, 88.22% of all SAS flights arrived on time.
Singapore Airlines and Scandinavian Airlines boost partnership
Singapore Airlines and Scandinavian Airlines have agreed to boost air services between Singapore and destinations in Scandinavia - including with direct flights to the Swedish capital Stockholm. Under a memorandum of understanding signed earlier, the Star Alliance partners plan to co-operate on existing as well as new flights.

SAS orders new short-haul seats
Scandinavian Airlines has ordered new seats for its shorth-haul fleet. The next generation seats from Recaro offer improved comfort for customers, who get additional leg room, whilst the lightweight seats weigh less and are thereby better for the environment.

SAS is giving its customers 21 new destinations to choose from when the 2012 summer schedule comes into operation in March next year.

SAS to move Bergen flight from London to Manchester
SAS is to launch a new direct route from Manchester to Bergen on January 6th 2012. The twice-weekly service will be replacing SAS’ London Gatwick – Bergen route which will cease operations on November 1st 2011.
