The impressive ranking of the Philippines as the world’s fourth fastest growing economy was one of the topics that opened the discussions at Routes Asia 2022 in Da Nang, Vietnam.

After careful consideration Routes Asia, which was due to take place in October, and World Routes, set for Milan in November, have both been shelved.

Okinawa will host the first Japanese Routes Asia air service development forum this weekend, with the event designed to boost international transport connections. Now in its 15th year, Routes Asia brings together airlines, airports, tourism authorities and governments to plan new flights and increase existing services.

The 11th Routes Asia event will take place on March 17-19 in Mumbai, India. With over 600 delegates representing 300 airlines and airports from across the region, the event is expected to match or even surpass last year’s record total. Routes Asia is the only annual event designed to facilitate meetings between senior airport executives and airline route decision-makers as well as tourism authorities from the entire Asia region.

As the largest Routes Asia event to date draws to a close in Chengdu, Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport have officially handed over to Mumbai , the official host destination of Routes Asia 2013. Building on the success of this year’s event the largest route development forum for the entire Asia region will take place on March 17th-19th 2013 in Mumbai hosted by Mumbai International Airport, GVK managed, Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport.

As part of a busy schedule at the 10th Routes Asia forum, currently taking place in Chengdu, China, between April 15-17, the Seychelles delegation, led by the Minister of Tourism&Culture, Alain St.Ange, has held meetings with the organizers of the Routes forum to agree upon the program of the coming Routes Africa forum to be held in Seychelles between July 8-10, 2012.
