Britain’s railways are the most improved in Europe, according to the most comprehensive comparison study yet published of the rail networks in all 27 EU countries.
The Rail Delivery Group, which is the leadership group for Britain’s railway industry, has expressed its support for the Government’s publication of the franchising programme, which has been announced today.
The Rail Delivery Group’s leadership of Britain’s railways has been reinforced by its formalisation as Rail Delivery Group Limited. At its meeting on 18 February the Rail Delivery Group became a company limited by guarantee with its Members and Directors being drawn from the owners of Britain’s passenger Train Operating Companies, Freight Operating Companies and Network Rail.
The Industry Strategic Business Plans (ISBP) published today brings the rail industry together in setting out a vison for the future of Britain’s railways. Under the leadership of the Rail Delivery Group the ISBPs set out how the industry will increase rail’s contribution to Great Britain’s economic, social and environmental welfare.
The Rail Delivery Group (RDG) brings industry leaders together on a voluntary basis to provide leadership to the rail industry.
The leadership body of Britain’s rail industry, the Rail Delivery Group, has given its full support to the Government’s High Level Output Specification (HLOS) and the recently published Scottish Ministers’ HLOS. The Rail Delivery Group includes the Chief Executives of the passenger rail owning groups, freight operators and Network Rail.
The Rail Delivery Group (RDG) welcomes the Government’s support for the RDG contained in the Command Paper ‘Reforming our Railways: Putting the Customer First’, which was published today. The Paper calls on the Rail Delivery Group to provide leadership to the industry and to respond to the Government’s strategic challenges.
