P&O Cruises is celebrating 175 years of heritage with a ‘Grand Event’ in its home port of Southampton. The company’s seven ships will first be welcomed into port by ship’s Godmother Darcey Bussell for a day of celebrations.

Wärtsilä Hamworthy has won a contract from Fincantieri Cantieri Navali Italiani S.p.A. to supply two Membrane BioReactors (MBRs) to the 141,000gt newbuilding under construction for Carnival group member P&O Cruises.

P&O Cruises has announced it will be showing live BBC World News coverage of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations on July 5th. The television coverage which will commence at 09:00 GMT will be shown on board all seven ships in the P&O Cruises fleet.
P&O Cruises secures royal Fleet Review for celebration of 175th year
It has been announced that Her Royal Highness the Princess Royal will conduct a review of the P&O Cruises fleet as part of The Grand Event on Tuesday July 3rd, 2012, the pinnacle to celebrations which mark 175 years of heritage. Her Royal Highness will visit Southampton and join guests on Oriana, the ship named by HM The Queen at its launch in 1995.
P&O Cruises to offer four day balcony giveaway
P&O Cruises is offering free balcony cabin upgrades for new bookings made on a selection of 22 spring and summer sailings. The offer is available for four days from March 30 and can be booked until midnight on April 2, 2012.
